Selena Quintanilla Perez (born Selena Quintanilla Quintanilla) was an American musician. She was a very successful singer whose music had an Texan rhythm. She was birthed on the 16th of April, 1970, in Lake Jackson Texas. While she was brought up in America, in the United States, her first spoken language was English. But her singing style was exclusively Spanish. Selena was raised in a happy and loving family that was of Hispanic descent. Her father, Abraham Quintanilla, was also a musician, but he did not have the same recognition as his daughter. Selena's parents made every effort they could to support her and help develop her talent after they discovered the talent she had. The family of Selena realized how gifted she was, and encouraged her to start performing at the restaurant of her father.
